Classic Game Room reviews GOLDENEYE for the Nintendo 64 N64 video game console. This N64 review shows gameplay through various levels and missions in the game. Although instead of completing most levels smoothly and by the books, CGR went crazy just like Bond in License to Kill… we went rogue! We slaughtered everyone without mercy including scientists in lilly white lab coats. Take that brainiac! Think you can outsmart a hail of bullets from James Bond!? GOLDENEYE from Rare for the N64 is one of the best first person shooters ever created. It has a massive single player mission, intense and exciting gameplay, smooth controls and excellent sound design. After playing this game again we can see why CGR likes Time Splitters so much… it was made by some of the same designers! Goldeneye raised the bar quite high for shooters on home consoles. No longer were FPS games just for PC gamers who clogged computer labs with Doom for days on end, now you could sit in the comfort of your own sloth-hole and shoot through the Golden Eye video game or blast your friends in multiplayer. This was before online multiplayer so you actually had to have friends in the same location… Although little more can be learned about Goldeneye after millions of people have fallen in love with this game and written volumes about it, Classic Game Room gives is a nice retro review where we recommend it to new gamers who may have missed it the first time, and challenge those who played it in 1997 to pick Goldeneye back up and crush the enemies of James Bond one more time. Classic Game Room is the ultimate retro video game review show online, in space and underwater. If you want to watch old school game reviews, watch Classic Game Room. Goldeneye needs a remake for the PS3 and Xbox 360, will it ever be remade?

I actually thought the movie was pretty dope.

GE007 was sure a freaking good game, my first 3D one actually, and I loved it, but I don’t think it was the best one out of these two.
Remember that knee sliding, also.
I’m gonna get …
I’m gonna get downrated, though I think Perfect Dark was better. Even though it’s not a pioneer like its elder brother was, it had :
- better graphics
- better plot (at least not taken out of a movie)
- more weapons
- higher quality (& more) sounds
- much improved multiplayer (AI bots, random weapons / maps, challenges, presets)
- higher difficulty (GE007 seems easy when you beat PD in Perfect Agent mode)
- cheese.
Basically, PD took everything from GoldenEye, and improved it.

Best game ever. Brings back good memories.
Nintendo went for …
Nintendo went for gameplay over graphics. If you actually read the beginning of the missions, you could see the plot. Hell, even just playing the missions, the plot was obvious.
So, the graphics weren’t great. The game was built by a team of people, the majority of which had never worked on a game before.
There’s a reason that the game is so famous. It was simply amazing. Groundbreaking.
One of the most amazing parts of the game was its multiplayer. It was… is… amazing.
Now, I don’t …
Now, I don’t understand why all Nintendo 64 games looked a little dull compared to other consoles, was it an attempt to anti-aliasing?, i don’t know, but looked awful.
in conclusion: play station for that time had better graphics than the Nintendo 64, and the games of N64 sucks, I had this console, and really,i sold it a few days later. well and saying this i say…GOOD BYE.
Dear lord….let me …
Dear lord….let me put it in words you understand, golden eye, was one of the most famous games in history…¬_¬, but like me, many people think that
had no plot was boring and monotonous (as all N64 games), I insist on the graphics, the characters face looked like a Stiker stuck in a geometrical figure which in many Play station games its not that obvious.
Graphics do affect …
Graphics do affect entertainment value – just look at Ico, where a large reason I replayed it was the rather fancy views. However, it cannot compensate for poor gameplay. One should also realize Golden Eye has very good graphics for the time and system. I also play roguelikes with great enjoyment, and those are rarely even animated.
I loved this game …
I loved this game when i was 12 ore something. And i still love it today. This is the game of my live .
My mother destroyd it 3 times. And i always walked with her bank card to the cash machine to get the money to buy it again.

That does not make your point valid at all. In fact, it just makes you look like a moron.

To tell you the truth, I feel sorry for people like you, that is conformist and swallow all the garbage they put on the market, what a pity. And of course I played, thats why I’m criticizing you dummy!! … for me it was better medal of honor.
And tell me something, do you relax in a place full of pollution that will not let you see the view? Do you have fun in a place full of junk? I dont think so
the gameplay was terrible, sorry man, it’s just an opinion.
easy to forget how …
easy to forget how blown away I was when this was released. Only a couple of years previously we were shooting at 2D sprites in DOOM and Quake

One of the best shooters also managed to be the game version of a movie, that was actually better than the movie itself!
