Classic Game Room HD reviews the VECTREX video game console from GCE (General Consumer Electric) from 1982. The Vectrex is unique in that is plays video games on its own screen with vector based graphics giving a very crisp image that fans of old school games from the late 70’s and early 80’s should enjoy. The Vectrex has some excellent games like Berzerk and Scramble, but not as many as the venerable Atari 2600 or ColecoVision. New games are being released for the Vectrex from homebrew developers and the game system is surprisingly easy to find and collect today thanks to eBay. Vectrex games come with an overlay that fits over the screen and gives a splash of color and lists the controls. Classic Game Room HD reviews new and classic games, we’re now adding Vectrex video game reviews to the video game review show. For retro gaming fans and old school gamers the Vectrex is a unique and fun collectible that takes up a bit of space but it’s worth it!

They should make a new console with its own vector-graphics screen. Which would play Vectex games.

I bought a Vectrex yesterday. And i put it next to my bed. Now i can play games at night without having to come out of my bed. unlike the atari 2600 or NES or any other video game console.
I lOVE THE VECTREX!!!!!!!
How amazing is that …
How amazing is that machine? I had an old Atari 2600 back in the 80’s (wood Grain version, which I still have) but how amazing was this machine, I honestly would have loved to have seen one of these as a kid. I LOVE vector graphics, but on the Vectrex they just seem smoother and more stunning – wow.

KG : vectrex didn’t …
KG : vectrex didn’t die with the 83 crash, in fact new games are still releasing for the Vectrex, the lastest release was february 2009 if I’m not mistaken. You can either buy those games directely from the maker, or sometimes download it for free and upload it to a vecflash “blank” USB vectrex cartdridge. Some of them are amazing, with polygonal 3D, grey shades, synthetic voices…
Nice video. I also …
I would have been interested to see what the Vectrex’s later renditions would have looked like.
Nice video. I also have a Vectrex…..though I must admit that I do not have Berzerk and only have overlays for a couple of my games (Solar Quest and Space Wars). I have to agree with you concerning the Vectrex as it is definitely a great system. It’s a shame that the video game crash took the system out.

im sorry, where the did that come from? if your one of those people that just feels the constant need to insult someone else, then please go to a video that may actually spawn some debate so you can be shot down for your ad hominem attacks there. in this context you just sound like a douche.

Great video. Wow. I wanted one too. Thanks for sharing. It was fun to watch. You’re like the kid who I’d want to go their house and hang with. I guess I’m still upset that I never got a Merlin.

The Vectrex system …
The Vectrex system looks like something the Soviet Union would have made in the 1970s. Geeez, I can feel the xray radiation being emitted from this video. “In Soviet Union, you don’t turn on game machine, game machine turn YOU on!”
BTW The Vectrex is NOT a TV! It’s a vector screen. It has infinite resolution as there is no raster.
